
Celebrate Día de los Niños at Elgin High School Saturday
School District U-46 will be celebrating Día de los Niños (Children’s Day) from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29. at Elgin High School.
The public event will start with a light lunch followed by crafts, face painting, stories and other family activities for everyone, a district media post said. The first 200 families to arrive will receive a free book.
Activities will be offered in Spanish with English translation. Guests should use entrance seven.

Randall Oaks Zoo to celebrate World Veterinary Day
In recognition of World Veterinary Day on Saturday, April 29, young visitors are encouraged to bring their stuffed animals with them if they visit to Randall Oaks Zoo in West Dundee.
Staff will be on hand to demonstrate how to treat animals for common ailments by using the toy animals as patients, a new release said.
Regular admission rates apply. Zoo hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Kite fly being held Saturday at Randall Oaks soccer fields
The Dundee Township Park District will be holding a kite fly from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29, at the Randall Oaks Recreation Center soccer fields, 500 Randall Road, West Dundee.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants can bring their own kites or make one for free at the park that day while supplies last, a news release said.
