Entries sought for South Elgin Holiday Lights Contest
The deadline to enter South Elgin’s annual Holiday Lights Decorating Contest is Dec. 6.
All types of residences — houses, townhomes, condo and apartment balconies — are eligible to be considered in one of two categories: traditional and Griswold, a reference to the over-the-top decorations in the movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Each house will be given a lawn sign with a designated number for residents to use when choosing their favorites in an online vote, which will be open from 5 p.m. Dec. 8 to 11:59 p.m. Dec. 17, a news release said.
For more information or to register or vote, go to southelgin.com/residents/special_events/holiday_lights_contest.php.
Winners announced and awards handed out on Jan. 2.

The app is ADA accessible and available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. For more information, call 847-931-5609.
