The county average is 60% higher than the state average, with the standard value of an Illinois home sitting at just over $252,000, according to the latest data from the Zillow Home Value Index.

Cook, the most populated county in the Prairie State, comes in at No. 5, with the typical home value just under $319,000. And in dead last out of the state’s 102 counties is Alexander, which registered an average home value around $66,000.
