The Metra Board of Directors approved two settlements worth a combined $43 million for victims of a 2020 collision involving a Metra train, a car and a teenage pedestrian, who died as a result of the crash.

The collision took place in February that year at a crossing at 87th Street and Pulaski Road when, according to court records, a Metra train struck a car, which then struck a pedestrian.

Kat Abughazaleh aims to extend organization after 9th District loss

Road to the Final Four: Illinois is making its 1st appearance since 2005

Illinois’ march to the Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis began in October with a 92-65 exhibition victory over Illinois State — which plays tonight in the NIT semifinals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Illini are making their first Final Four appearance since 2005, when Dee Brown, Deron Williams and company advanced to the national championship game under coach Bruce Weber before falling to North Carolina.
