An 18-year-old man was fatally wounded Wednesday afternoon at a commercial business during a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m., the teenage man was inside a business in the 6600 block of South Wentworth Avenue when four armed suspects exited a vehicle, pulled out weapons and opened fire in his direction, police said.
The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body, and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Tyrese Smith of the Kenwood neighborhood, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody for the attack and detectives were investigating.
