2. St. Charles North 5-0 (5): Senior pitchers Abby Zawadzki and Carrigan Rich each go the distance, respectively, in Saturday wins — 12-2 over Antioch and 9-5 over Crystal Lake Central.
3. South Elgin 6-2 (6): Junior pitcher Jenna Sheehan strikes out five and scatters five hits and six walks in 4-2 win for the Storm at Lockport, helping her cause by hitting pair of doubles.
4. Yorkville 9-5 (3): Inside-the-park homer by junior shortstop Alivia Lathen and triple by senior catcher Kayla Kersting powers Foxes to 8-0 Southwest Prairie Conference win over Romeoville.
5. Oswego East 8-3 (2): Junior utility standout Danielle Stone returns from injury and belts double and home run to drive in five runs as the Wolves blank Harvard 15-0.
6. Waubonsie Valley 7-4 (7): Sophomore pitcher Molly Quinn helps herself in 13-2 win over Wheaton Warrenville South with three hits, including double and homer, and drives in five runs.
7. Kaneland 5-4-1 (8): Junior outfielder Riley Cooper and sophomore catcher Lillyana Crawford each hit home runs to lift the Knights to 18-3 Interstate Eight Conference win over Rochelle.
8. Burlington Central 4-3-1 (NR): Junior outfielder Zoe Hornsby hits two homers and drives in three runs to support senior pitcher Isabelle Reed in 5-3 Fox Valley Conference win over Jacobs.
9. Oswego 5-7 (10): Senior Jaelynn Anthony, who gets a double, homer and two RBIs, picks up pitching win in relief of starter Adalynn Fugitt as Panthers top Lincoln-Way West 5-3.
10. Sandwich 7-3 (9): Sophomore outfielder Karlie Hardekopf and senior catcher Kayden Corneils chalk up three hits apiece for Indians in 11-5 win over Johnsburg.
Player of the Week
Senior pitcher Ellie Fox strikes out 15 for the 250th of her career in Yorkville’s 8-0 win over Romeoville. The Southeast Missouri recruit also threw three shutout innings of relief in a 3-2, eight-inning win over Benet and 4 2/3 innings of relief in a 7-5 loss to Neuqua Valley. She strikes out 29 in 14 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and two walks.
