An Aurora man has been arrested on charges related to a break-in at a Naperville apartment in which he allegedly attacked the person living there, Naperville police said.

The incident occurred about 4:35 a.m. April 11 in the 700 block of Inland Circle when a man identified as Joseph C. Rush reportedly entered the home via an unlocked sliding glass door on the third floor, a news release said. The victim, who knew Rush, received minor injuries and declined medical treatment, officials said.

Rush fled the scene and was later arrested and charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count each of failing to register as a sex offender and trespass to residence.

He is being held in the DuPage County jail pending trial. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 11.
