ELGIN POLICE HOST HEROES UNITE CELEBRATION
The Elgin Police Department and nonprofit Autism Hero Project will hold their sixth annual Heroes Unite Autism Acceptance Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at police headquarters, 151 Douglas Ave.
The free event will feature a magician, soap bubble act, petting zoo, gaming truck, face painting, ATV rides, movie characters, free popcorn and ice cream, traffic stop assimilation scenarios, a new interactive autism awareness squad car and other attractions, according to the Eventbrite website.

CHICAGO FIRE SOCCER CLINICS, CAMPS AT ECC
The Chicago Fire will hold soccer clinics on Saturday, April 25, and soccer camps on June 22-25 at Elgin Community College.
A clinic for children ages 4 to 11 will be presented from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by one for ages 12 to 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. according to a news release. Cost is $5 per child.
The June camps will offer age-based sessions for children ages 4 to 5 from noon to 1 p.m. for $80; ages 6 to 11 from 9 a.m. to noon for $140, and ages 12 to 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. for $140.
Chicago Fire coaches will lead the instruction, focusing on age-appropriate soccer fundamentals and skill development, a news release said. Participants will receive an official camp jersey and take part in a Chicago Fire matchday experience at a home game, including on-field activities and interactions with team representatives.

ANIMAL CONTROL SETS VACCINE, MICROCHIP SCHEDULE
Kane County Animal Control will hold drive-thru rabies vaccination and microchip clinics from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, April 25, June 27, Aug. 8 and Oct. 10, and 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, May 13 and Sept. 16, at its facility, 4060 Keslinger Road, Geneva.
The cost for a one-year rabies vaccine with tag is $30 for neutered pets and $55 for non-neutered pets, according to a news release. Kane residents age 65 and older receive discounted rates of $15 for neutered pets and $25 for non-neutered with valid ID. Microchips are available for $15.
All owners must disclose if their pet has bitten anyone within the past 10 days. An adult age 18 or older must be present to handle the animal. Pets requiring muzzles must arrive with one properly fitted.

ELGIN HISTORY MUSEUM HOLDING SATURDAY GALA
Elgin History Museum’s fundraising gala will be held from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the ballroom of the Holiday Inn, 495 Airport Road, Elgin.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, cash bar, buffet dinner, silent auction, live auction with guest auctioneer and a performance by the Illinois Brass Band.
