Chicago police have opened a death investigation after a male body was pulled from Lake Michigan Friday afternoon in the Gold Coast neighborhood, officials said.

Shortly before 4 p.m., an unresponsive male was pulled from the lake in the 1000 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive by the Chicago Police Marine Unit, officials said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives opened a death investigation pending autopsy results Saturday.
