Sixteen years after being fatally shot in front of his parent’s Chatham neighborhood home, a street in the 8500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive was renamed on May 20, 2026, in honor of Chicago police Officer Thomas E. Wortham IV, who was killed in the line of duty on the same date in 2010.
