A two-year-old boy died Sunday afternoon after a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in Pullman, according to Chicago police.

Authorities discovered the child inside a home on the 900 block of East 104th Street at approximately 12:40 p.m. The toddler was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.

While the investigation remains ongoing, police have taken a 31-year-old man into custody in connection with the incident.
