Burbank
DEALING CHARGED: Omar R. Abdennabi, 31, 5200 block of 87th Street, Burbank, was arrested May 15 and subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver after officers recovered 230 black market opiate-based pills and a roll of plastic sandwich bags during a stop in the 7000 block of 87th Street, police said.
Chicago Ridge
GUN POSSESSION: Mark A. Jackson, 38, 5100 block of 113th Place, Alsip, was arrested May 29 in the Chicago Ridge Mall and subsequently charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated assault/police officer and obstructing identification, police said. Jackson had a firearm concealed in his waistband, struggled with officers recovering it and provided a false name, police said.
Crete
STORE BURGLARIES: Ku Ku Charlie’s, 972 Main St., Jemma’s Slots, 1395 Main St., and Lacey’s Place, 1029 E. Steger Road, were burglarized early May 28 in rapid succession, according to a social media post by police Chief Scott Pieritz. All of the businesses have video gambling machines, Pieritz said.
Evergreen Park
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Karina Rea, 35, 2700 block of 98th Street, was arrested May 10 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest after hitting an officer, police said.
GUN POSSESSION: Lucciano B. Mosby, 25, 3400 block of Monmarte Avenue, Hazel Crest, was arrested May 10 in the 9600 block of Western Avenue and charged with unlawful use of a weapon and disorderly conduct and also ticketed for soliciting after displaying an imitation handgun to a person standing in his spot in front of a store, police said.
Frankfort
ABUSE IMAGES: Kameron J. Hayles, 18, 21900 block of Thyme Lane, unincorporated Will County near Frankfort, is charged with possessing about 1,000 still images and one video of child sexual abuse Feb. 20 during a search at his home by Will County sheriff’s deputies assigned with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes fugitive task force, according to court documents online and sheriff’s police. Hayles was taken into custody May 27 in Chicago, sheriff’s police said.
Lansing
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: James D. Tillery, 40, Chicago, was arrested May 1 outside a business in University Park and subsequently charged with aggravated battery/discharge firearm in connection with the shooting of a Lansing man April 21 in the 18800 block of Burnham Avenue, police said. The victim identified Tillery as the shooter April 27, police said.
Lynwood
GUN POSSESSION: Ryan Mitchell, 34, 200 block of Elmwood Drive, Chicago Heights, was arrested May 15 and subsequently charged with unlawful possession of a weapon/repeat felon after Cook County sheriff’s deputies recovered a loaded 9 mm pistol with a loaded magazine inserted during a stop near Joe Orr Road and Stoney Island Avenue near Lynwood, police said.
Matteson
FATAL CRASH: Gregory D. Miles, 40, Park Forest, was arrested May 11 in connection with an early July 27 car-pedestrian collision on Interstate 57 near Vollmer Road, Illinois State Police said. He is charged with failing to report a fatal crash and leaving the scene of a fatal crash, police said.
Oak Lawn
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Edith Guijosa, 21, 6000 block of 92nd Street, Oak Lawn, was arrested March 23 and subsequently charged with aggravated battery/police officer in that block after three officers were struck by glass shards from an object she threw on the ground, police said.
SEX OFFENDER: Abdulgafar O. Shonibare, 52, Chicago, was arrested April 29 and charged with failing to register as a sex offender during a stop in the 5600 block of Southwest Highway, police said. Shonibare was convicted in Cook County of aggravated criminal sexual abuse/victim 13-16 when he was 30, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
ILLEGAL MASSAGE: Yan Zeng, 32, Chicago, was scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Bridgeview May 30, charged with prostitution, police said. Zeng was arrested April 29 at Orange Massage, 10220 Cicero Ave., after massaging an undercover Oak Lawn detective, police said.
Orland Park
DUI CRASH: Karl M. Abanis, 23, 16300 Pepperwood Trail, Orland Hills, was arrested May 5 and charged with drunken driving and hit-run during a crash investigation in the 10000 block of 159th Street, police said.
RETAIL THEFT: Giselle Asuncion-Sanchez, 24, Chicago, was arrested and charged with felony retail theft May 6 after taking leather goods and handbags collectively selling for $2,165 from Von Maur, 4 Orland Square Drive, police said. Asuncion-Sanchez was also charged with felony retail theft in connection with the previous removal of merchandise selling for $775 from the store, police said.
Palos Hills
SEXUAL ASSAULT: Timothy O’Connell, 36, of the 8100 block of Willow Drive, Palos Hills, appeared in Cook County court at Bridgeview May 28, charged with sexual assault April 20 at a residence in the 11100 block of Spathis Drive, Palos Hills, Cook County sheriff’s police said. The victim/complainant said she learned she’d been sexually assaulted after a man later identified as O’Connell gave her a drink at a deathcore concert at the Aragon Ballroom and her next recollection was awakening on Spathis Drive partially dressed with him, police said.
Park Forest
GUN POSSESSION: A Chicago man with a loaded handgun and no gun permit was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated resisting, aggravated assault and reckless driving after departing an April 23 stop and driving 400 feet with an officer half in the car, police said. Brandon M. Williamson, 35, stopped the vehicle when the officer drew his service weapon but then led officers on a foot chase for several blocks, police said.
Posen
BURGLARY ARREST: Irving C. Carter, 19, Markham, was arrested May 6 and charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, burglary and resisting arrest after officers recovered two loaded handguns discarded near a motor vehicle burglary in the 14600 block of McKinley Avenue, police said.
University Park
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Da Jahana Harris, 21, 900 block of Morningside Drive, University Park, is scheduled to appear in Will County court June 18, charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest, according to court records online. Harris kicked an officer below the abdomen May 5 in that block, police said.
