A 4-year-old boy was struck by an SUV after he ran into the street Wednesday night in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago police said.
Around 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian in the 6600 block of South Evans Avenue. A 4-year-old boy ran between parked vehicles and was hit by the SUV, police said.
The vehicle, driven by a 47-year-old woman, was headed north when it hit the boy who was injured. He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in fair condition.
The Major Accidents Investigation Unit was investigating. No citations were given to the woman, police said.
