A young Disneyland visitor who climbed out of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and fell down the 50-foot final drop on the log flume ride was taken to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries, according to social media reports.

A 13-year-old guest riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Sunday, June 21 exited the ride vehicle before the end of the attraction and a cast member immediately stopped the attraction, according to Disneyland officials.

The boy was evaluated at a local hospital as a precaution and released, according to Disneyland officials.

The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday and the ride remained closed for the rest of the evening.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reopened on Monday, June 22, according to Disneyland officials.

Eyewitnesses on Reddit variously described the boy as falling, tumbling or sliding down the drop hill.

Disneyland security and medics responded to the incident, according to eyewitnesses on Reddit.

One Reddit user said the boy sustained minor cuts and scrapes, but managed to avoid any serious injuries.

“Luck was on his side,” Kaleb wrote on Reddit.

Disneyland transformed Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. The log flume ride has no lap bars or seat belts.
