A 20-year-old man was fatally wounded Monday night in a drive-by shooting in the Chatham neighborhood that also wounded two other victims, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 10:45 p.m., two 20-year-old men and a 19-year-old were walking in the 8200 block of South Cottage Grove when a black sedan pulled alongside. Someone inside opened fire at the group before fleeing northbound on Cottage, police said.

One of the 20-year-olds was struck in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other 20-year-old was shot to the left leg and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in good condition. The youngest victim suffered a leg wound and was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.

Detectives were investigating.
