A man died, and a woman was badly wounded in a shooting incident Tuesday in Mundelein, according to Lake County authorities, who said two people were in custody.
Police have not yet released identities in the shootings, which police think may be a targeted domestic issue.
Mundelein police were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Deepwoods Drive at around 11:40 a.m. for a report of a shooting.
Officers found the victims — the man who was dead and the woman, who had what appeared to be a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. She was brought to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
Mundelein police were able to obtain and broadcast a description of a vehicle suspected of being connected to the shootings. An Illinois State Police officer pulled the vehicle over near the Indiana state line and took a man and a woman into custody, the task force said.
Police are continuing to investigate.
