If you’re heading to the Loop during the next two weekends, beware that traffic and transit will not operate as normal.

Three “L” train stations in the Loop will be closed for the next two weekends, the Chicago Transit Authority announced Wednesday. The temporary closures may impact transit passengers’ commutes on the Orange, Green, Pink and Brown Lines.

Washington/Wabash, Adams/Wabash and the elevated Clark/Lake train stations will be closed from 2 a.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday during the weekends of July 18-20 and July 25-27, according to CTA. The Blue Line Clark/Lake subway station will be unaffected by the closure.

The closures come as crews work to repair and adjust the existing elevated track structure downtown.

During the weekend closures, transit passengers can still get to the Loop area via Harold Washington Library-State/Van Buren, LaSalle/Van Buren, Quincy, or Washington/Wells stations. Pink Line riders should transfer at Clinton to a Green Line train toward Cottage Grove or Ashland/63rd for service to the Loop. Pink Line trains will operate between 54th/Cermak and Clinton.

Drivers will not be immune to delays, according to CTA. State Street will be fully closed to traffic from Randolph Street to Wacker Drive starting Friday night at midnight to Monday at 5 a.m. during the weekends of July 18-20 and July 25-27. Traffic will be detoured onto Dearborn Street and Clark Street. Pedestrians will still be able to access the closed road.
