A four-bedroom rock-‘n’-roll-themed condominium on the 29th floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower has just been listed — fully furnished — for $6 million.

Jack Thompson, who sold his real estate analytics company, Tango, to a private equity firm in 2015, assembled the 4,368-square-foot condo after paying $3.99 million in 2016 for two adjoining units on the 29th floor. He then enlisted interior designer John Robert Wiltgen to execute a renovation that would transform the combined units into a place that would be ideal for entertaining — and for fulfilling childhood rock-‘n’-roll dreams.

“What a neat condo. I love it — it was part of the dream, building a company and selling the company, Tango Analytics, in 2015, to private equity. I did well, and it was kind of like, every boy’s dream to have a rock-‘n’-roll lifestyle, a place like this, with stereo all throughout the house and a man cave,” Thompson, who is now based in Miami, told Elite Street. “To use John Wiltgen as a designer, and he and I collaborated — it was just art. It was fun. It was a dream come true for someone who grew up in Chicago.”

One of the condo’s centerpieces is a music room, with walls covered in black acoustical tile. Thompson said that he curated many of the rarities in the music room, including electric guitars signed by major rockers, Beatles album covers with signatures from all four Beatles, an album art wall, turntables and a rack of vinyl albums.

“I commissioned the album art wall, and I commissioned the artwork to be done. It’s meant to be interactive — you can flip through my album bin,” Thompson said. “It’s meant to be fun, and as for parties, I’ve had some amazing parties here.”

Would Thompson part with any of the items in the music room as part of the condo’s sale?

“That depends,” he said. “If it’s someone who appreciates it, I’m happy to give it a good home. If you like it, let’s talk.”

As for the rest of the condo, Thompson combined a larger A unit with a much smaller B unit, which the prior owners had used for wine storage. He knocked out a wall and brought the two units together.

Now, the condo has views both to the east out to Lake Michigan and also to the west, along with five full bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, five home theater soundscapes, a family room with a stainless steel fireplace, a new 98-inch LG 4K UHD TV, Bang & Olufsen speakers and a kitchen by nuHaus that has quartzite countertops, Sub-Zero, Wolf and Miele appliances and a 1,000-degree vent hood designed for indoor grilling. The condo also has a primary bedroom suite with a fireplace, walk-in closets and two bathrooms, one of which has custom white and gold agate floors, full-height Athens white marble walls and a vertical Dornbracht shower system.

The now-former B unit is what Thompson calls a “map room,” with framed maps on the wall. His wife uses the map room as her office, and it’s where his son stays when he is visiting. The map room also has a coffee bar and shower and bath with a Mr. Steam shower system and a chromotherapy light.

“It’s the perfect setup for guests or as a detached office,” Thompson said.

Thompson first listed the condo for rent earlier on Jan. 4, for $30,000 a month. However, listing agent Rafael Murillo of Compass told Elite Street that given the buzz, he and his client soon decided to market the unit for sale.

Being fully furnished makes it “an enticing offer for anyone looking to move in right away,” Murillo said. “The price point is particularly appealing to buyers seeking the convenience of a fully furnished home, sparing them the hassle of engaging an interior designer or dealing with the current delays in obtaining new furniture. The property is truly remarkable, thanks to the collaboration between the renowned designer John Robert Wiltgen and my client, who worked together to merge two units into one and tastefully furnish and decorate the space. It’s a masterpiece, especially suitable for those who enjoy entertaining in an exquisite home.”

Thompson has relocated to Miami, where his fiancee, who works for Royal Caribbean Celebrity Cruises, recently received a promotion.

The combined condo had a $40,154 property tax bill in the 2022 tax year.
