Mass for Howard S. League, 89, who was for 47 years chief engineer and building manager for the Chicago Motor Club building at 66 E. South Water St., will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 10134 S. Longwood Dr. Mr. League, who lived in the Beverly neighborhood, died Tuesday in Amboy, Ill., while on a hunting trip. He was a Navy veteran of World War I, and he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local 399 in Chicago for 53 years. Mr. League retired in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Margery; two daughters, Carol Parker, and Joan Schultz; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
