I agree with President Reagan that the death of S. Sgt. Greg Fronius in El Salvador was a ”tragedy,” but we disagree on why it was a tragedy. The sad fact is that the soldier died because his President is committed to supporting a corrupt, cruel regime that fails at democracy, ignores human rights and exploits its people.

A far greater tragedy will occur if we listen to Reagan`s anti-communist paranoia and decide to send more troops to Central America. Do we really need another Vietnam?
