A small plane crashed into a tree Friday at Howell Airport in Crestwood, but the pilot walked away uninjured. Charles Samek, a computer businessman from Nashville, Tenn., was landing his single-engine Mooney airplane when he overshot the runway and landed in the top of a small tree, said Bill Howell, owner of the airport at Ill. Hwy. 83 and Cicero Avenue. He said Samek was able to climb onto a wing and drop about 10 feet to the ground.
