Kansas City Southern Industries, Inc. said its board of directors unanimously rejected New York investor Howard Kaskel`s proposal to hold talks concerning a possible merger. Landon Rowland, president of Kansas City Southern, said, ”Kaskel has not even made a pretense of having sought or obtained financing, confirming our view that he is merely attempting to put the company into play.”
