The Cook County state`s attorney`s office has decided not to file reckless homicide charges against a woman whose car went out of control last April at a West Side schoolyard, killing two children and a grandmother.

Terry Levin, a spokesman for the state`s attorney`s office, said prosecutors could not prove criminal recklessness on the part of Isabel Fuentes, 37, whose car struck seven schoolchildren and three others in front of McCormick Elementary School, 2712 S. Sawyer Ave., as hundreds watched in horror.

Fuentes, of 2846 S. Kolin Ave., is scheduled to go to trial Jan. 11 in Traffic Court on a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident and a citation charging negligent driving, Levin said.
