The Barrington Village Board authorized its land planning consultant to seek formal proposals from developers interested in redeveloping the central business district. The board gave the go-ahead Monday to Camiros Ltd. to distribute a ”request for proposals” to about 130 prospective developers.

The redevelopment plan calls for a 60,000-square-foot shopping center with a supermarket on a triangular, 14-acre site bounded by Main Street, Northwest Highway and the Chicago & North Western Railway tracks. A pre-submission conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in the Barrington Village Hall. The deadline for submissions is March 10.
