The administration`s ”war on drugs” follows the usual Washington pattern that gave us the HUD and S&L industry fiascos.
We should stay out of other countries and make our justice standard and swift to drug dealers and users. Our message should be ”We Mean Business.”
When caught with the goods, dealers and/or users should be arraigned, tried and sentenced within 48 hours. No bail, no continuence and no exceptions. Incarceration should be under federal control with spartan conditions that will deter repeat offenders.
There should be a ban on TV advertising of all ”over-the-counter”
drugs. TV is always showing young, beautiful, healthy-looking people pushing pills that cure or solve any problem.
TV is sending the wrong message and should stop it immediately.
