House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jack Brooks (D-Texas) said a House subcommittee will this spring examine the bankruptcy filings by certain Campeau Corp. units and the potential for future bankruptcies growing out of recent leveraged buyouts. Allied Stores Corp. and Federated Department Stores Inc., American subsidiaries of Campeau, filed for Chapter 11 protection this week.
