A Georgia state legislator has warned his colleagues that they may have overlooked a target in their war on drugs: cane toad licking.
A resolution introduced by Democratic Rep. J. Beverly Langford calls upon the General Assembly to look into ”the extreme danger of cane toad licking becoming the designer drug of choice in today`s sophisticated society.”
The cane toad resolution is a less-than-serious assault on what Langford considers an anti-drug fever gripping the General Assembly.
The toad, found primarily in Australia, emits a toxin to ward off predators, ”but which when licked raw is a powerful hallucinogen,” the resolution said.
