The Mona Charen column ”Drug users would be a blight on society, too”
is a typical attempt at creating fear and hysteria in an already ignorant American arena.
Apparently, Ms. Charen has such little faith in the reasoning powers of today`s American youth as to believe that granting us the right to exercise our powers of choice will convert us into a society of addicted, drug-crazed animals. Perhaps she should credit the 95 percent of students who do not use crack cocaine with making that choice based on a power within themselves rather than on laws forced on them by our government.
Quite simply, the decision to use or not to use drugs is one made exclusive of legality.
