The Indiana Department of Labor and Amoco Oil Co. have launched investigations into last week`s explosion and fire that killed two people and injured three others in the company`s Whiting refinery.
The state investigation may not be complete for a week, said David Baer, a spokesman for the state agency. ”Whenever there is a job-related injury or death, we are mandated to conduct an investigation,” he said. ”We look at everything that could be a factor.”
