Business spending seen easing: Spending by businesses to expand production is expected to rise at a slim annual rate of 5.1 percent this year after inflation, down from an estimated 5.5 percent foreseen three months ago, the Commerce Department said. That would be the weakest pace of investment since 1987, when real spending went up 3.1 percent.
