The article ”10 soybean traders convicted” is a stark contrast to the black on white banner that hangs from the Chicago Board of Trade building proclaiming: ”World Record 150,000,000 contracts in 1990.”

Such a proclamation of success in light of 10 traders` convictions of scheming to defraud their customers epitomizes the self-interest and greed that is so characteristic of the business community today.

Contrary to popular opinion, our nation`s greatest threat is not the Japanese buying up America. It is American business people who, for personal and corporate gain, are selling out.
