Fifteen children sustained minor injuries when a bus and school van collided on the South Side, fire and police officials said.
The accident occurred about 3 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of 109th Street and Normal Avenue.
The bus driver stopped at a stop sign and went through the intersection
”without seeing the other driver,” said Morgan Park Sgt. Jean Pfeiffer. The school van fell onto its side, Pfeiffer said.
The children, ranging in age from 6 to 13, were treated at area hospitals and released.
The bus driver was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
