From ”Who He?” by Jonathan Goodman (1984), we learn that author Eric Blair offered these four pseudonyms to the publisher of his first book, ”Down and Out in London and Paris” (1933). Blair`s will stipulated that his little- known real name be inscribed on his tombstone, not the famous name associated with ”Animal Farm” and ”1984” that ends this list:
