Brunswick Corp. signed an agreement with Solvay Automotive Inc. of Troy, Mich., to develop and make ultra-lightweight, high-strength natural gas vehicle fuel tanks. The Skokie-based company said the tanks will consist of blow-molded ”thermoplastic” liners that are ”filament-wound” with fiber-resin overwraps. The liners will serve as impermeable containers for the gas, and the overwraps will provide strength needed for pressurization.
