A Cook County Circuit judge on Monday sentenced a reputed gang enforcer to 40 years in prison for instigating a man`s murder in retaliation for a gang-related shooting, prosecutors said.
Terry Williams, 27, appeared before Judge James Heyda, where he was sentenced for the May 18, 1990, murder of Ricky Moore, 21, according to Assistant State`s Atty. Bernard Murray.
Moore, who was not a gang member, was talking on a public telephone in the 6600 block of South Damen Avenue when Williams ordered another gang member, Robert Hawkins, to shoot him, Murray said.
