For your 15 minutes of fame, or maybe even half an hour, you need to complete a series of classes.
Professionals at TCI/Illinois and Continental Cablevision teach the courses that can point you in the right direction. In both systems, classes are free, but subject to availablity.
Call TCI/Illinois at 708-299-9220 ext. 241 or Continental at 708-991-5880 for times and required hours in each of the following workshops, which must be taken in sequence:
– Studio: Learn to work a two-camera format for in-studio productions from newsmagazines to talk shows.
– Porta Pak: This class most often involves single camera operation, the kind that might be useful for on-location interviews or field coverage of sporting events. Editing is included.
– Truck: You can roll out to the local parade or marathon runs with a fully equipped mobile truck as long as you have completed your course work and have a valid driver`s license.
