A Wheeling man faces numerous charges after being chased by officers Saturday night, police said Monday. Steven Hack, 36, of 547 Blackfoot Drive, was charged with attempting to flee and elude police, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, speeding and possession of open liquor in a vehicle, police said. Police said Hack`s 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass was clocked at 57 m.p.h. in a 40 m.p.h. zone near Hintz and Elmhurst Roads. Hack allegedly fled from police at speeds reaching 80 m.p.h. before he was stopped in the 100 block of West Euclid Avenue, police said. He is to appear in Cook County Court on Aug. 8.
