The Aurora Finance Committee on Wednesday is supporting condemnation if negotiations fail to acquire about 50 acres southwest of Aurora Municipal Airport for new runways.
The property, known as the Whildin Farm, is being appraised, said Assistant City Atty. Scott McCleary. ”We`re in the process of finishing the appraisal on it,” he said.
”Then we can go to the owner and negotiate on it. If we have to, we could go to a (condemnation) suit.”
The condemnation authorization will be considered by the City Council on Aug. 20.
