Faced with a 6.6 percent enrollment increase this year, Geneva District 304 school officials are seeking to form a committee to review the need for more classroom space. The committee, which will examine options for handling increasing enrollments, will be composed of citizens, parents, teachers and school administrators.
Some class sizes already have jumped to 30 pupils this year and district administrators expect enrollment to increase even more in the next few years. That increase, coupled with the failure of a recent referendum proposal on building a middle school, has forced district officials to begin planning for the projected space crunch. People wishing to serve on the committee may call the district office at 232-0678.
