Company notes: Lincolnwood`s ”white knight” arrived Wednesday, according to Mayor Frank Chulay, with the opening of a J.C. Penney store in space formerly occupied by Madigan`s in the Lincolnwood Town Center. Madigan`s closed the Lincolnwood store in February as part of a restructuring, leaving the mall with only one anchor, a Carson, Pirie, Scott & Co. store. . . . Deere & Co., Fiat S.p.A and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. signed a memorandum of understanding for a potential joint agreement to manufacture a broad range of construction equipment, mostly in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Deere said.
