If Wauconda`s Wheel In Recycling Co. does not erect an 8-foot fence and end the traffic hazards caused by blowing newspapers within 60 days, ”the village will shut the operation down,” according to an ordinance passed unanimously this week.

Trustees refused to compromise after the company had been cited on several occasions for piling newspaper stacks too high and for allowing the wind to carry the papers onto Garland Road, where the firm is located.

Efforts to contact the company for comment Wednesday were unsuccessful.
