The Algonquin-Lake In The Hills Fire Protection District has invited the public and representatives of other local fire departments to view a demonstration of a floating ramp that might be used to rescue people who have fallen into water or through ice.
On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Maryland company that makes the ramp will demonstrate its use on the Fox River near the fire station at 302 N. Harrison St. in Algonquin, according to Assistant Chief Lee Thurman.
