Police Detective Jim Fiore has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of charges that he planted a video camera in a women`s restroom at Village Hall.
The Glendale Heights Police and Fire Commission voted 3-0 last week to cut off Fiore`s salary until the commission determines the validity of the charges and whether to impose any disciplinary action.
Although the commissioners noted that Fiore can recover the pay if he is exonerated, a representative of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council said a formal grievance will be filed with the Police Department protesting the suspension.
Until Thursday, Fiore had been on paid leave after accusations that last month he placed a camera in a women`s restroom at the Glendale Heights municipal complex.
