At one time it must have seemed like a good idea to put together a well-dressed, smooth-voiced trio and give those BBD-backed Boyz II Men a run for their Grammy. Perhaps it still is a good idea; however, Po, Broke & Lonely?
are not it. Lost amid the considerable self-congratulatory tone of the disc is the simple fact that their collective music skills would have to be squared just to get within a keyboard`s length of awful. Each song begins with a spoken intro that seems to have little to do with the mournful warbling that follows, and the music, credited to one Chris ”The Glove” Taylor, appears to have been performed while he was wearing the kind used for boxing.
