Maestro Paul Anthony McRae and the Lake Forest Symphony Pops Orchestra will perform a summer concert at 7 p.m. tonight in Vernon Hills.
The program, ”An Evening in Old Vienna,” will carry listeners back to 19th Century Austria with the waltzes of Johann Strauss. The program will also include some of the world`s best loved polkas, overtures and marches by familiar composers such as Franz Lehar and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The concert will be presented lakeside on the grounds of the John F. Cuneo House and Garden at 1350 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills. A free park-and-ride shuttle service will serve lawn patrons, and will depart every 10 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m. from the northeast side of Hawthorn Shopping Center.
The admission fees for the concert are $30 for a reserved package, and $7 for lawn seating. Tickets for lawn seating will be sold on the shuttle. For more information, call 708-295-2135.
