I read State Sen. James ”Pate” Philip`s recent letter on finding a new airport site. He ended with, ”That`s a maneuver (to get a less expensive green-grass site) taxpayers could applaud.”

Which taxpayers is he talking about? I live in Chicago and I am paying a lot of taxes and I would like the airport to go here. I don`t care where they put it as long as it is in Chicago.

Most of the money will come from Chicago, so why should we Chicagoans pay for a green-grass site? Most of the benefits from O`Hare Airport (owned and controlled by Chicago), due to its geographical position, goes to the suburbs.

The airport will give life and momentum to Chicago for the next 50 years and produce jobs to pay for the high real estate taxes we get. And this will be a maneuver Chicago taxpayers would applaud!
