A 47-year-old St. Charles man was charged with littering after allegedly twice throwing a piece of trash onto the street in front of an officer who was issuing him a traffic citation.
Roy B. Henning Jr., of 1705 S. Third Place, was pulled over in the 100 block of Division Street at about 1:48 a.m. Monday, when the alleged incident occurred.
The officer picked up the piece of trash once and handed it to Henning, telling him to dispose of it properly. Henning allegedly threw it on the ground a second time, and the officer told him to pick it up.
The officer picked up the trash for evidence. Geneva will mail Henning a citation for littering, police said.
