The first board of directors was appointed for Globex, the electronic after-hours trading system developed by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and Reuters PLC. The members of the Globex board of directors are: Leo Melamed, chairman of the Globex Joint Venture; William O`Connor, vice chairman of Globex and of the CBOT; Thomas Donovan, president and chief executive of the CBOT; John F. Sandner, chairman of the Merc and Globex representative; William Brodsky, president and chief executive of the Merc; and Burton Gutterman, Globex representative. Merton Miller, Nobel Laureate economist, and Beryl Sprinkel, former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, were named as directors to represent the public.
