Bringing it to the streets: To provide a better understanding of the Bible and Christianity in contemporary society, the Midwest Christian Center in Tinley Park is getting ready to host a weekly television program, ”Midwest Live.”
”We are going to take the scriptural truths and show the practicality for today,” Pastor Steve Bartlett said. ”We want to make it watchable, alive and sometimes even controversial.”
The show will air weekly at 6 p.m. Sundays on Channel 38 (home of the
”700 Club”) in the Chicago area starting Nov. 22. Plans for upcoming shows include on-street interviews, dealing with religion and individuals`
feelings about it.
”We want to show that the scriptures are not just for a bunch of Bible thumpers but that these are eternal laws that can help anyone get ahead in real life,” Bartlett said.
