I am angered that American and French soldiers stood by as a crowd of Somali men beat and stripped a Somali woman, and appalled that the Tribune published a photo of the apparently naked woman.

The article stated the soldiers are allowed to intervene if someone is in danger of violence. Doesn`t being assaulted by thirty knife-and-whip-wielding men qualify? Would they have intervened if the woman was French or American? And why was it necessary to further violate her dignity by taking and publishing that picture?
